Our Standard Cast Resin Transformers are available with a wide range of technical options to suit various needs with rated power up to 30MVA and up to 72kV class making them suitable for both small distribution and large industrial power requirements.

The core is made from grain-oriented silicon steel for high magnetic efficiency, while the windings can be copper or aluminum, designed for optimal thermal and electrical performance. Cooling is primarily natural air (AN), with options for forced air (AF) for higher power ratings.

The transformers operate at a standard frequency of 50Hz, with an optional 60Hz version. Insulation classes are typically F or H, supporting high temperature rises depending on specific design. Impedance voltages are generally between 4% and 8%, ensuring efficient power transfer with minimal losses. The overall efficiency of these transformers is usually 98% or greater.

Design & Construction Features

Our cast resin transformers utilize high-grade silicon steel cores for low hysteresis loss and improved magnetic performance. The windings are made from copper or aluminium, designed to withstand thermal stresses and provide reliable electrical connections. Encased in a fully encapsulated cast resin case, these transformers are flame-retardant, UV-resistant, and designed to operate reliably in demanding environments.

The enclosures are available with protection ratings ranging from IP00 (no enclosure) to IP66, offering versatile solutions to meet varying environmental and safety requirements. Options include IP23, IP54, and higher, providing effective protection against dust, moisture, and mechanical impacts, ensuring reliable performance in both indoor and outdoor installations. Cooling is achieved through natural air convection, with optional forced cooling systems for larger power ratings. Terminals can be configured for top or bottom access, compatible with busbar or cable connections.
